# Kryptos installation reconstruction

Based on Andrew's independent physical-installation research dossier and geometry register, 20 September 2026. This model reproduces the documented components and reading-side relationships. It is **not an exact surveyed replica**: public evidence does not establish the as-built site plan.

## Modeled components

- Entrance: two layered red-granite/copper outcrops flanking a walkway; exposed dot/dash rows, fixed engraved compass and nearby lodestone; separate triangular incised stone.
- Courtyard plaza: curved copper screen, petrified wood at the left of the official front view, circular bubbling pool, contrasting exterior stones.
- Courtyard lawn: calm angular reflecting pool between layered granite and grasses.

The CIA compass and Berlin clock compass are different objects. Neither one's uncertain geographic bearing has been transferred to the other.

## Inscription fidelity

`sculpture-text.js` preserves the original 28 inscription rows and 28 tableau rows from the CIA's text record, corroborated against Elonka Dunin's transcript. It retains the question marks, unusual lettering and uncorrected K2 inscription. The tableau is mirrored on the official front. Letter openings are an alpha-cut surface, visible from both sides; the typeface is a rendering approximation, not a tracing of the cut metal.

Entrance Morse marks use selected raw observed sequences from the separate photo audit; their placement and spacing on this model are illustrative. They are not a complete measured inscription map. Occluded prefixes are not supplied.

## Estimated geometry

### Fidelity revision, 21 September 2026

Compared directly with CIA photographs 3, 5, 6 and 7: revised the exterior stones from rounded boulders to a pale angular block and long low reddish layered block; lowered the circular pool edge to near paving level; increased courtyard slab inclination. Replaced the scroll's abrupt inflection with a continuous-tangent profile. These are visual estimates, not measurements.

The inscription mask now uses explicit black/white green-channel values at 4096×2048 resolution, preserving source text and reversed tableau orientation. Copper patina and stone striations are procedural approximations. Water uses low-resolution captures of the modeled surroundings, refreshed after light changes; it is not a fluid simulation or a reconstruction of historical reflections. No reference photographs are republished as textures.

Screen height (~3 m), wood upright (~3.35 m), curvature, thickness, rock outlines, numbers of strata, pool outlines, planting, and scene spacing are visual estimates. The overview is a three-station arrangement, not a map of CIA buildings or surveyed routes. The light control is an inspection light, not an astronomical shadow calculation. No second encoded message is claimed from reflections or light.
