The third passage rearranges letters rather than replacing them. Its message describes the opening of a sealed chamber.

The solution
Spacing and punctuation added; original spellings retained.
Slowly desparatly slowly the remains of passage debris that encumbered the lower part of the doorway was removed. With trembling hands I made a tiny breach in the upper left hand corner.
And then widening the hole a little I inserted the candle and peered in. The hot air escaping from the chamber caused the flame to flicker but presently details of the room within emerged from the mist X

DESPARATLY, the separator X and the final Q are preserved. The question mark between K3 and K4 on the sculpture is not included in this 336-letter stream.
How to decode it
Verified against the complete ciphertext, not just a recognizable opening phrase.
- Write the 336 ciphertext letters into 14 rows of 24, left to right.
- Rotate the rectangle 90° clockwise and read it row by row.
- Rewrite that result into 42 rows of 8. Rotate 90° clockwise again and read row by row.
